Project Goal: The goal of this project was to develop a zine that highlights the contributions of underrepresented female architects in Mexico, aiming to raise awareness of their work and promote the importance of Latin American designers. Experience: Working in a collaborative group, we researched and discussed the impact of female designers in Mexico, drawing from our shared Latin American backgrounds to inform our approach. My primary responsibility was to design the zine, focusing on creating a visually appealing layout that effectively showcased the featured architects. I chose a blue and green color palette to evoke a sense of creativity and connection to nature, and I utilized ample white space and bold typography to enhance readability and emphasize the architects’ work. Outcome The final zine successfully highlighted the work of female architects in Mexico, presenting their stories and designs in an engaging and accessible format. I won a scholarship at Parsons as recognition for its impact.
